Mike joined the Osprey Cove team in January of 2017. He has over 25 years of experience in the golf industry, working for several companies. During that time, he has held roles of Cart Attendant, Head Golf Professional, General Manager, Operations Manager, and Regional Manager. He has managed clubs in many parts of the country including Texas, New Jersey, Georgia, Missouri, Nevada, California, Arizona, and Washington. He started his club career after college at UTEP and a 7 year career in the Air Force National Guard, including 2 years of active duty.
Miranda joined the Osprey Cove team in 2012 and has been a friendly face to members and guests previously in the Club’s Food and Beverage Department, and now through Membership Sales. She has a passion for customer service and is known to greet residents with a warm smile and always makes people feel welcome. She is the mother of 3 beautiful children and she loves spending time with them on the weekends. She brings great knowledge and experience to her position with her long background here at Osprey Cove.
Marissa is a local native of Amelia Island, Florida who came to the Osprey Cove family in May of 2016. As a loving Mother of two and wife to a Navy Submariner her unique situation carried her to Pearl Harbor Hawaii for four years before returning back to the main land in Kings Bay, Georgia in 2008. From there Marissa pursued a career at Target incorporated starting from the bottom where her perseverance and leadership skills were quickly recognized as evidenced by her managerial promotion to Guest Service Senior Team Leader. Marissa joined Osprey Cove as the manager of the River Club. Exceeding expectations is her goal here at Osprey Cove.
Max Baker is a professionally trained chef, born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Max has a knack for Southwestern cooking and a flare for fine dining, but he is highly skilled in wide array of culinary arts. Max brings a great amount of experience to the table, and is a perfect fit to bring more value to the membership with his knowledge and expertise. He is highly focused on creating new, fun menus for members of Osprey Cove, and he is extremely motivated in his new position.
Food & Beverage Director
Rachael joined the Osprey Cove team in 2016. Before this, she managed bars and kitchens around the country for the US Navy MWR. Rachael went to Syracuse University for Hospitality Management. She is a Pennsylvania native but has been traveling around the world with her family. She is married to a Senior Chief in the US Navy and has 3 daughters. She has worked in customer service for over 12 years and enjoys working with people and making everyday an enjoyable one.
Robert Ellis, PGA
Head Golf Professional
Originally from Oklahoma, Rob has been in the Golden Isles for 15 years. He and his wife Abby have three sons. His career began at Jekyll Island in 2004. He then left for an opportunity at Sea Island Golf Club, where he spent almost 4 years as an Assistant Golf Professional. His next step led him to TPC Sawgrass and the PGA Tour Academy, where he honed his teaching skills. In 2010, Rob was offered the Teaching Professional position back at Jekyll Island, and the circle became complete. He then became the Director of Golf and Tennis for the club. Rob loves teaching players of all ages, but he has devoted the majority of his instructional time to juniors from all over Coastal Georgia. Rob has guided the local PGA Junior League All-Star team for the last 5 years and lead them to the Regional Championship 2 times, coming up one win short of a birth at the National Championship both years. Rob has been named Honorable Mention three times for the US Kids Top 50 Instructors and is a Certified US Kids Instructor. He was elected to PGA membership in 2008 and was recognized as the PGA Junior Golf Leader for the East Chapter of the Georgia Section of the PGA in 2012 and 2016. He was also recognized as the Resort Merchandiser of the Year for the Georgia Section in 2014.
Golf Course Superintendent
Having had 30 years of regional golf course maintenance experience working with southern turf grasses including TifDwarf (our greens), and TifEagle. From his days just out of college as a course crew laborer and golf construction apprentice at TPC Sawgrass, Paul has, for the past six years, held the position as Golf Course Superintendent overseeing the four courses Indian Mound, Great Dunes, Oleander and Pine Lakes – that comprise the 63 hole Jekyll Island Golf Club. Paul’s working knowledge in the Golf Course Maintenance field is highly diverse, ranging from improving overall turf and playing conditions to implementing construction, drainage and irrigation projects to developing and managing course operating budgets. Paul describes his management style as, “a team builder, hands-on and proactive which centers on communication as the cornerstone component.” As Paul recently emphasized to our course maintenance crew during his introductory remarks to them, “It’s all about the golf course – each and every day.
